Meet Your Facilitator & Guest Speakers:
Facilitator: Asma Elhuni
Asma is the Rights & Democracy NH Movement Politics Director and a lead organizer at H.E.A.L. Together, Race Forward. Asma has spent years organizing around critical issues such as immigration, racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, state-sanctioned violence, and economic justice.
Guest Speakers:
- Eman El Badawi
Eman currently serves as the mayor of Cranbury Township, having previously been a member of the Cranbury Township Committee. She made history as New Jersey’s first Muslim mayor to wear the hijab. - Sadaf Jaffer
Sadaf served two terms as mayor of Montgomery Township, making history as the first South Asian American woman to hold this position in New Jersey. She also served as an Assemblywoman, representing the 16th Legislative District in New Jersey’s state legislature. - Mustafa Brent
Mustafa served as a Councilman for the 5th Ward in East Orange and as the Vice President of the East Orange Board of Education. In these roles, he focused on reinvesting in the educational system.
