Join us in the celebration for the 2nd Annual New Jersey Muslim Heritage Month: Past, Present & Future of American Muslims
In celebration of Muslim Heritage Month, CAIR-NJ is hosting a special open house designed to connect, educate, and inspire! This event will highlight the rich history of Muslims in America, explore current challenges, and share CAIR-NJ’s vision for expanding services to meet the needs of New Jersey’s growing Muslim community.
Enjoy networking, engaging storytelling, a delicious lunch, and a captivating documentary screening followed by a Q&A session with contributors and producers. There will be free parking in the lot behind the office building.
Program Schedule:
- 12:00 PM - Networking
Connect with community members, explore the CAIR-NJ office layout, and build meaningful relationships. - 12:45 PM - Storytelling for Children
Myra Manji, author of ‘My Best Friend Moved Away’ and ‘The Magical Pen’. - 1:30 PM - Storytelling for Adults
Ibrahim Abdul-Haqq, a firefighter who fought to keep his beard, will share his inspiring journey. - 2:00 PM - Lunch Break
Enjoy a delicious lunch provided by Pita Square with other community members. - 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Screening and Q&A
Watch the first episode of American Muslims: A History Revealed from PBS. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Zaheer Ali, Executive Producer and Aakef Khan, Production Assistant.
