Faithful While Detained: Support Delaney Hall Muslims
Support Them This Ramadan
Supporting the Faith and Dignity of Detained Muslims This Ramadan
Building on the success of providing essential Islamic religious items to Muslims incarcerated in Essex County Jail, we are expanding this effort to address a critical gap: supporting Muslims detained by ICE at Delaney Hall.
For many detained individuals, access to basic religious items is limited or nonexistent. Qur’ans, prayer mats, Islamic books, prayer beads, and modest, compliant hijabs are not luxuries—they are vital tools for spiritual grounding, mental resilience, and dignity during an incredibly isolating and stressful time.
Detention often strips people of comfort, routine, and connection. For Muslim detainees, the ability to pray properly, read Qur’an, and observe their faith provides solace, structure, and hope. These items offer more than religious observance; they are a source of peace, identity, and strength in the face of uncertainty.
Through this fundraiser, we aim to ensure that Muslims detained at Delaney Hall are not forced to practice their faith without the tools they need. Your support will directly fund the purchase and distribution of:
- Qur’ans in Arabic and appropriate languages
- Prayer mats
- Islamic educational and devotional books
- Prayer beads (tasbih)
- Modest, detention-compliant hijabs
Every donation—no matter the size—helps restore dignity and spiritual care to people who are often forgotten and underserved. Together, we can affirm that faith, humanity, and compassion do not stop at prison or detention walls.
Thank you for standing with our detained brothers and sisters and helping us meet them with mercy, respect, and tangible support.
